Terms of Service

By using Gerald ("the Bot"), the Gerald dashboard at geraldbot.me ("the Website"), or any related services (collectively, "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Gerald is a Discord bot that provides entertainment, moderation, economy, ticketing, and server management features. The Website provides a dashboard for managing bot settings, viewing analytics, and managing subscriptions.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, in accordance with Discord's Terms of Service. If you are located in the European Union, you must be at least 16 years old. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these age requirements.

The Service requires a Discord account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Discord account and for all activity that occurs through the Bot or Website under your account. We are not responsible for any unauthorized access to your account.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to spam, harass, or abuse other users
• Exploit bugs, glitches, or vulnerabilities in the Bot or Website
• Automate interactions with the Bot (self-botting, macros, scripts)
• Attempt to access data belonging to other users or servers
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Bot

Gerald offers optional premium subscriptions ("Gerald Premium") with additional features.

• Payment processing is handled by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless cancelled.
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from the billing dashboard or via the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-period, your premium features remain active until the period ends.
• Price changes: We may change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscriptions will not be affected until their next renewal after the change.
• Server slots: Premium server slots can be reassigned between servers at any time. Adding slots is prorated; reducing slots takes effect at the next billing period.

The Bot includes a virtual economy system with in-game currency ("coins"). This currency has no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and is not redeemable outside of the Bot. We may adjust, reset, or remove virtual currency balances at our discretion.

The Service, including the Bot's code, branding, design, and content, is owned by Gerald and its developers. You retain ownership of any content you create or submit through the Service (such as ticket messages or server configurations).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including but not limited to violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Discord outages, API changes, or hosting issues may affect availability.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gerald and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
